Abstract
A new species of ghost shrimp, Neocallichirus raymanningi, is described bas ed on specimens collected in subtidal habitats in the Gulf of Cariaco, nort heastern Venezuela. This new species is most similar to N. rathbunae (Schmi tt), but differs from it primarily in having a broadly rounded rostrum, and in the case of males, unique armature of merus and dactylus on the major c heliped. A checklist of all known species in the world currently assigned t o the genus Neocallichirus Sakai is included.
