One hundred and twenty five dromedaries (Camelus dromedarius) from south Tu
nisia, aged 4 to 7 years, were checked for serum proteins by electrophoresi
s. The animals were shared into 3 groups on the basis of their status relat
ed to trypanosomosis : healhy animals with negative serology for Trypanosom
a evansi infection(as tested by indirect immunofluorescence), seropositive
animals without clinical signs, and seropositive diseased animals. The anal
ysis of the 5 classical seric protein fractions (albium, alpha 1, alpha 2,
beta, and gamma globulins) showed hyperprotidemia and increase of the gamma
globulins fraction in seropositive animals with or without clinical signs.
