Abstract
Some important bibliometric characteristics of chemistry journals were stud ied. Contrary to expectations, calculations of impact factors asynchronized for shorter and longer periods yield similar values. A new overlap measure for journals is suggested which is based on frequency distribution of refe rences by journals.
