In this article we propose a framework for handling quality information wit
h the aim of improving quality and productivity in an organization. The pro
posed hierarchical framework of information is based on three levels: contr
ol of the process; evaluation of the process; and organizational assessment
. The three levels are described and a field application is presented and d
iscussed. The proposed framework, in our field-tested experience, improves
the chances for successful realization of the improvement potential in orga
nizations.
