The sterilization of stal lions is a chance to preserve the exterieur and libido without influence on mentality and with loss of procreative capacity. The following injury is v ery small in relation to the surgical castration and there is no risk of in guinal hernia in connection with this kind of operation. Because of the loc ation of the wound there is a simple after-treatment. Including qualified a ntibiosis and prophylaxis of tetanus this intervention is feasible in the s table.
