Taxonomy and phenetic relationships of Electrogena affinis (Eaton, 1883) (Ephemeroptera : Heptageniidae)

Electrogena affinis (Eaton, 1883) is redescribed in all developmental stage s. Larvae were analysed, in comparison with other congeneric european speci es, by a standard set of diagnostic characters which, in previous works, pr oved to be very useful in the taxonomy of Electrogena. The status of E. fas cioculata (Sowa, 1974) is discussed and the synonymy E. fascioculata = E. a ffinis is stated. Finally, phenetic relationships between E. affinis and so me other related european species are represented by cluster analysis, on t he basis of quantitative characters of larvae.
