Abstract
The syntheses and crystal structures of transitional metal complexes of thr ee substituted polypyridine ligands [4'-phenyl-2, 2' : 6', 2 "-terpyridine (L1), 4', 4 "-diphenyl-2, 2' : 6', 2": 6", 2-quaterpyridine (L2) and 4', 4' ''-diphenyl-2, 2' : 6', 2 " : 6 ", 2"' : 6"', 2''''-quenquepyridine (L3)] a re reported in this work. Comparison of the structures of these complexes s hows that the central metal ion has an inducing effect on the formation of the configuration of complexes.
