The structure of a new decavanadate of the composition K2Ba2V10O28. 8H(2)O
has been solved by direct methods (3800 reflections) up to R = 0.035 withou
t the preliminary data on its exact composition. The V5+-ions form distorte
d octahedra, which, in turn, form polyhedral clusters linked by large potas
sium and barium cations and water molecules.
