Lead concentrations of dust samples from Nigde City-Turkey

Lead accumulation in Nigde City-Turkey was investigated in sixty nine stree t dust samples. The lead levels in the samples were determined by flame ato mic absorption spectrometry after extraction of lead with aqua regia. The c oncentrations of lead in the sixty nine dust samples were in the range of 8 2.2-450.2 mu g/g with an average concentration of 167.6 mu g/g. The highest and lowest mean concentrations of lead in the samples from Nigde City were found in car parks and in school gardens and playgrounds, respectively.
