Abstract
We describe a He-3/He-4 dilution refrigerator with a commercial two-st age Gifford-McMahon closed cycle refrigerator cooling the dilution uni t instead of a dewar with liquid helium. The vibrations of the cold he ad of the closed cycle refrigerator are effectively decoupled from the dilution unit by a soft connecting element which is described in the paper. The lowest temperature of the dilution refrigerator was 15 mK a t a He-3 flow rate of 1.1 x 10(-4) mol s(-1). (C) 1997 Elsevier Scienc e Ltd.
