Abstract
Buffalo calves experimentally inoculated through different routes with vari ed doses of street rabies virus showed high ESR, leucocytosis due to high l ymphocyte counts and hypohaemoglobinaemia. A significantly high leucocyte c ount was observed in CSF. Rabies virus was detected in all natural secretio ns. Pathomorphological lesions suggesting non-suppurative encephalitis with evidence of neuronal degeneration, gliosis and intracytoplasmic inclusions were observed.
