The crystal structure of dibromamine-T, an important brominating/oxidising
agent, which crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with cell p
arameters a = 10.325(3)Angstrom, b = 8.281(2)Angstrom, c = 12.611(5)Angstro
m, beta = 102.44(3)degrees and Z = 4 has been solved using DIRDIF programme
and refined using SHELXL. The structure shows both intramolecular and inte
rmolecular hydrogen bonds of the type CH....O. The molecules are arranged i
n layers.
