Abstract
Optical, compositional, and structural characterization of titanium-diffuse d LiNbO3 channel waveguides has been performed. The refractive index profil es have been reconstructed from near field measurements using a well-adapte d mathematical approximation. Crystal lattice deformations have been measur ed by x-ray diffraction. Titanium concentration profiles measured by second ary ion mass spectrometry have been correlated to the refractive index prof iles.
