Pf. Fang et al., Synthesis and characteristics of [60]fullerene polysiloxane stationary phase for capillary gas chromatography, J CHROMAT A, 867(1-2), 2000, pp. 177-185
A new type of fullerene-containing polysiloxane was synthesized by reacting
[60]fullerene with azidopropyl polysiloxane directly. The polysiloxanes ha
ve been used successfully as stationary phases for capillary gas chromatogr
aphy. They displayed high column efficiency, wide operational temperature a
nd high thermostability, and exhibited unique selectivity for many organic
substances, such as alkanes, alcohols, ketones and aromatic compounds. The
stationary phase was especially suitable for separation of high boiling-poi
nt compounds like polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and phthalic esters, etc
. It was also found that some alcoholic or aromatic positional isomers coul
d be well separated on the column. The influence of the fullerene content o
n the separation was also investigated. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All
