Abstract
Stephos cryptospinosus sp. nov., a new species of calanoid copepod, is desc ribed from Western Mediterranean coastal waters. It differs from other spec ies of the genus in the structure of the fifth legs in both sexes, and in h aving a small spinous process on the posterolateral margins of the last pro somite in both sexes.
