Abstract
However, even for the L-alpha line at, e.g., densities 10(17) cm(-3) - wher e the experimental width is a factor of two greater than the calculated KG width and the entire difference between the two widths was usually attribut ed to the ion dynamics - it turns out that the AGT eliminates about one hal f of this discrepancy indicating that the ion-dynamical contribution is in reality about a factor of two smaller than it was previously assumed.
