Abstract
We describe a 92-year-old male patient with systemic lupus erythematosus (S
LE) who had sudden onset of thrombocytopenia and developed acute lupus pneu
monitis (ALP). Although steroid pulse therapy was effective for ALP, he dev
eloped complicated bacterial pulmonary disease. This patient is the oldest
ever reported to have contracted SLE.
