Abstract
The authors introduce a method for decomposing a 3D model into spheric al harmonic functions for later reconstruction. It is shown that spher ical harmonic representations of models are efficient as the amount of data is reduced significantly. This method can be incorporated within model based coding (MBC) applications resulting in a performance incr ease.
