Abstract
1. Substance-P (SP) has been shown to induce a regulated rise in body tempe rature when injected into one of the lateral cerebral ventricles of rats. 2. The non-peptide antagonist of SP (CP-96,345) decreased the SP-induced ri se in core temperature and, when given prior to an intravenous endotoxin in jection, it also attenuated the febrile response to endotoxin.
