Abstract
A simple technique for measuring optical fibre dispersion (or pulse sp ectrum if fibre dispersion is known) is demonstrated. Ultra-short puls es are linearly dispersed in the fibre under test, thus mapping their spectrum to the time domain. The delay between two spikes in the dispe rsed pulse's temporal profile, corresponding to two spectral spikes, a ccurately gives the dispersion.
