I. Pasaoglu et al., MULTICENTRIC ANGIOFOLLICULAR LYMPH-NODE HYPERPLASIA ASSOCIATED WITH MYASTHENIA-GRAVIS, The thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon, 42(4), 1994, pp. 253-256
Castleman's disease is often referred to as giant lymph-node hyperplas
ia. Although this localized disorder most commonly involves the medias
tinum, recently many patients have been described with multicentric ly
mph-node hyperplasia associated with various clinical abnormalities. H
ere a new case of multicentric angiofollicular lymph-node hyperplasia
associated with myasthenia gravis and gammopathy is presented. At firs
t, the patient responded to surgery well, but after some months her co
ndition deteriorated: plasmapheresis was then performed, one year afte
r the operation, with great clinical improvement.
