Mutual data connection facility among mainframe and UNIX server - ACOS-NX7000 data connection

Recently, as with the growth of WebComputing, computer systems have evolved into more complicated systems of cooperating heterogeneous clients and ser vers. Mainframes are required to have connectivity and cooperability with o pen systems. Especially, effective use of mainframe data of enterprise syst em is very important in making decisions of business tactics. In mainframe ACOS-4, NEC offers, as a solution of the problem, the "ACOS-NX7000 disk sha ring facility" which will be the basis of highspeed data connection among A COS and NX7000, which is the UNIX server offered by NEC systems. NEC also o ffers refam/tape, which is the data connection facility of tape-base betwee n ACOS and NX7000, for the systems not needing such high-speed connection. This paper describes the function and structure outlines of these functions .
