In a autonomous decentralized chemical plant (ADChP), an unspecified n
umber of autonomous modules should cooperate to achieve given objectiv
es. In order to realize an ADChP, therefor the control system in the m
odule should be designed to include communicating functions because th
ere are no prefixed structures in the ADChP. In this paper, the author
s present a communication framework for an ADChP in accordance with th
e autonomous decentralized systems concept. A multi-effect evaporating
system is also presented as a practical application of the ADChP.
