Abstract
We report on the identification of unique sequences within the highly variable rDNA ITS regions and more conserved 5.8S regions which provid e data for the design of species- and genus-specific probes, and we ex amine some aspects of the phylogeny of Alexandrium isolates from New Z ealand waters.
