Abstract
Smoothing errors in micromagnetic calculations compute infinite energy for vortices. In numerical calculations their energy is finite but the wrong va lue. In variable meshes the increasing energy with resolution produces arti facts into these calculations. This paper presents corrections for these pr oblems. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
