Based on Abel's generalization of the binomial formula, we introduce a new
type of normalized generalized binomial states \ M, p, q ] (q = 0 correspon
ds to the ordinary binomial states), which are characteristic of a differen
t photon emitting probability for a different energy level of an excited mo
lecule undergoing M level vibrational relaxation. The photon number distrib
ution and squeezing property of the new states are discussed. It is shown t
hat q plays an essential role in displaying highly nonclassical behaviors.
