Gynaecomastia is the least rare manifestation of the male breast disease. U
rologists must therefore be able to distinguish the various forms of gynaec
omastia, eliminate a testicular tumour and identify the main causes by perf
orming a simple but complete assessment. Medical treatment is fairly disapp
ointing. Surgical treatment is required in patients presenting with complic
ations or when persistent gynaecomastia is aesthetically bothersome.
