Abstract
We have studied the effects of annealing on performance and morphology of p hotovoltaic devices using blends of two organic semiconductors: a conjugate d polymer and a soluble perylene derivative. The efficiency of such photovo ltaic cells has been determined. The effect of temperature on blend morphol ogy has been investigated for actual device films. Annealing leads to the f ormation of micron size perylene crystals and an enhancement of the quantum efficiency. This enhancement has been attributed to the formation of an el ectron conducting perylene crystal network. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
