Abstract
The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of a stimulus fadi ng strategy on putting accuracy in two adults with severe mental retar dation and one adult with profound mental retardation. Results showed that following a systematic fading of putting guides, the three partic ipants increased accuracy in making 1.5-m putts during post-training a ssessments on a practice green where training occurred. These results also maintained at, or increased above, post-training levels at a two week maintenance check on the practice green. Similar increases in acc uracy were monitored during post-intervention generalization on a loca l golf course putting green.
