In this work, a new pyrene derivative pyrenyl chalaone(PD) has been sy
nthesized and its steady - state photophysical properties in solution
and micell systems have been studied. Results indicated that the inter
molecular charge transfer complexes (Inter - CT) between PD molecules
are very easy to form even if the concentration is very low. The fluor
escence emission of PD comprises the fluorescences from pyrenyl monome
r, intramolecular charge transfer state (Intra - CT) and intermolecula
r charge transfer state complex. The compound PD has good solvatochrom
ism effect, concentration effect and temperature effect, and is a bett
er probe molecule for microenvironment.
