Abstract
We study the existence and approximation of a nontrivial positive solu tion for a nonlinear ordinary differential equation of second order. T o prove the uniqueness of positive solutions, we use some estimates of the error between exact and approximate solutions. The equation arise s in the study of some nonlinear diffusion problems.
