Excerpts from the journal of the late Dr. Harry Johnson's trip to Antarctic
a in late 1971. The expedition encountered a phenomen at sea that they coul
d not understand scientifically and evidently decided not to record. The sh
ips log simply says, "Steamed all day, nothing unusual happened". Whereas D
r. Johnson's journal describes a floating moss cushion, giant nematodes, ro
tifers, mites, and tardigrades all shrouded in a surface level cloud. Some
low quality pictures appear to confirm the events recorded in the journal.
The authors draw no conclusions.
