On the way to QGP via J/psi suppression

Abstract
The suppression of J/psi production, proposed as a possible signature of th e formation of a Quark-Gluon Plasma in heavy ion collisions, is reviewed in these lectures both experimentally and theoretically. A special emphasis i s put on the recent results obtained by the NA50 collaboration at CERN in P b-Pb collisions where new features seem to appear.
