Abstract
The nobility are few in number in Anjou (only 1% of the total population), but they act a big influence in this country as in the others in France, by their distinguished position in society and their large wealth. The aristo cratic way of life is a model for the other groups of people, especially fo r the burgess of Angers. This article looks into three aspects of the way o f life: 1. the fitting of the noble houses; 2. the searching of convenience s in foods, clothes and furniture; 3. the liking of ostentation.
