Abstract
For the convenience of monochromator users, the constant-bandwidth operatio n of a Czerny-Turner monochromator is reviewed and clarified for continuous ly variable and for discretely variable slit widths. A procedure for select ing the discrete slit widths that are necessary for nearly constant-bandwid th scanning is presented. (C) 2000 Optical Society of America.
