Abstract
The determination of the anisotropy constants and of the electronic st ructure of single, epitaxially grown interfaces as 'building blocks' o f magnetic multilayers has been carried out by means of in situ Brillo uin light scattering from spin waves and of spin-resolved photoemissio n, respectively. Multilayer structures have also been studied using ex situ Brillouin light scattering with emphasis on the influence of spa tial inhomogeneities on the magnetic anisotropies of the multilayered structures.
