Abstract
Two organic liquid biphase systems containg poly(ethylene oxide), heptane a nd either CH2Cl2 or methanol have been tested in the catalytic hydrogenatio n of hex-1-ene using, respectively, Wilkinson's catalyst and a cationic rho dium complex, both leading to high yields and selectivity, with the latter showing a better performance and enabling easy and efficient product separa tion and catalyst recycling.
