Abstract
Matrix-isolated [CH3ReO3] tautomerises to [H2C=Re(O)(2)OH] under the influe nce of UV light; the carbene has been characterised in its normal and H-2- and C-13-enriched isotopic forms by its IR spectrum with results well repli cated by quantum chemical calculations.
