Abstract
A variety of management errors, nutritional problems, and infectious diseas es may result in weight loss in sheep. When initiating an investigation of weight loss in a single sheep or a flock, practitioners may become frustrat ed when confronted with the wide range of diagnostic differentials. This ar ticle describes important considerations for diagnostic investigation of ov ine weight loss and briefly reviews the differential diagnosis for this pro blem. Emphasis is placed on diagnostic testing, treatment, and prevention o r control.
