Flexible subblocks for visual information retrieval

A flexible subblock image retrieval algorithm is proposed which is robust t o object translation, lighting changes, and object appearance/disappearance in an image which is divided into nine non-overlapping subblocks. Furtherm ore, using Ohta-colour moments and biorthogonal wavelet frames from each su bblock, the dimension of the colour space can be reduced and the retrieval performance improved.
