Abstract
Polarized Raman spectra of BaLaGa3O7 and SrLaGa3O7 single crystals wer e recorded. Spectra were obtained at right angle and backward scatteri ng. The polarization effects were used to describe the longitudinal an d transverse phonons. The translatory and rotatory lattice modes were identified and the spectra of the barium and strontium compounds were compared.
