We report the experimental results of a tunneling study of high-T(c) B
i2Sr2CaCu2O8 (BSCCO) single crystals. The tunneling conductances G(V,
T) of Pb-I-BSCCO junctions were investigated in the temperature range
from 4.2 to 95 K. The superconducting energy gap 2DELTA at 4.2 K was e
stimated as 58 meV. The polarized Raman spectra of BSCCO single crysta
ls were also obtained at room temperature. The Raman active side-band
can be attributed to a two-magnon scattering mechanism.
