This article seeks to analyse some of the discrepancies which exist between
Madeleine Oullette-Michalska's diaries broadcasted by Radio-Canada in the
1980's and the published version of her diary la Tentation de dire. Journal
. Our attention will also be focused on Ouellette-Michalska's grand-mother'
s diary which is extensively quoted in the author's unpublished and publish
ed diaries, giving rise to a spectacular process of intertextuality. It is
our intention to show how the rewriting of Clara Belanger-Dumais' diary is
an important discursive strategy in the construction of a poetics of women'
s autobiographical narratives founded, at least in part, on the conceptuali
zation of the "Other".
