A simple cyclic voltage generator for the preparation of conducting polyaniline film

The design and mode of operation of a cyclic voltage source have been discu ssed. In the present electronic circuit there is also provision for holding the potential to a certain value. Using a clock pulse, an up-down counter and a DAC the digital pulse is converted to analog voltage. A potentiostat takes care of any change in resistance in external electrode circuit. As an application the instrument has been used to fabricate conducting polymer f ilm (polyaniline) in acidic aqueous media. The film thus formed has a resis tivity of the order of 10(-2) ohm.cm.
