Abstract
The influence of ultrasound on scale prevention in evaporators has been stu died in a sugar factory in Guangdong province, China. It was shown that sca le can be effectively inhibited by ultrasound treatment. Not only was the r ate of scale formation reduced, but both the capacity and heat transfer coe fficients of the evaporators were significantly improved.
