Abstract
Using the chemical masking agent phenylglyoxal, we have selectively bl ocked the arginine residues in leukotriene cysLT(1) receptors of guine a pig lung preparations. This treatment resulted in the markedly decre ased affinity of LTD4 antagonists to the receptor without affecting th e affinity of LTD4 itself. Our results indicate that LTD4 and its anta gonists may have different modes of interaction with the cysLT(1) rece ptor. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
