The exchange of Cooper pair momentum between the normal core electrons
and the superconducting condensate around a moving vortex line in a h
igh-kappa superconductor is computed with the help of the recently dis
covered supercurrent force on Andreev scattered quasiparticles. This r
esults in half of the Magnus force and explains microscopically the ph
enomenologically introduced interface force of the Nozieres-Vinen-Warr
en theory which is missing in the Bardeen-Stephen theory. Solutions of
the time dependent Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations (BdGE) for a moving
vortex line without the high-kappa restriction are discussed.
