Piezoelectric detectors are very versatile detectors for laser induced
pressure signals in liquids and solids. For a reliable interpretation
of these signals the large bandwidth of acoustic pulses (up to 250 MH
z) and especially the high-frequency response of the experimental setu
p have to be taken into account. Such measurements require a special c
onsideration of the electric setup which substantially affects the int
erpretation of the signals. In this paper we analyze these considerati
ons and derive an algorithm that permits the correction of measured pr
essure transients.
