W. Hua et al., Investigations of disk surface roughness on the dynamic performance of proximity recording slider, J MAGN MAGN, 209(1-3), 2000, pp. 163-165
This paper applies a self-developed probability model to study the influenc
e of surface roughness on the dynamic performance of the negative pressure
proximity slider. Simulations show that the contact stiffness is approximat
ely linearly proportional to the contact force, and the air bearing damping
is proportional to the average disk roughness if the slider is vibrating a
t the natural frequency of first mode. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All r
