The kinetic changes of air-oxidation of UO2 by additive addition and irradi
ation were investigated. Several kinds of specimens, such as unirradiated-U
O2 simulated-UO2 for spent PWR fuel (SIMFUEL), unirradiated-Gd-doped UO2, i
rradiated-UO2 and -Gd-doped UO2 were used for these experiments. The oxidat
ion results represented that the kinetic patterns among those samples are r
emarkably different. Ir was also revealed that, the oxidation kinetics of i
rradiated UO2 seems to be more similar to that of unirradiated-Gd-doped UO2
